This weekend, Adam, the girls and I decided (on Saturday) to pack up and go camping. It was last-minute, but it turned out great! We had a really good time. We went up to Helen and found a great camping spot off Richard B. Russell Scenic Highway. There is a waterfall and we found a nice spot next to the creek that the girls had fun playing in. This is free camping (no bathrooms) but there are a lot of nice campsites there and there were quite a few people camping this weekend.
When we first pulled up to the spot Elizabeth said, "This is creepy, I don't want to stay here!" LOL...but once we got out and she saw the creek, she was fine!
Cooking dinner...Adam made this contraption
Emma didn't like the smoke too much.
When Emma woke up that morning, she said, "Mom, we're not at home in our beds! We're sleeping in a tent in the forest!" It was like she had to remind herself where she was!
Flannel shirt, log, hatchet...
Going for a little climb. As you can see Emma didn't need any help, while Ellie was whining the whole time..."Daddy help me, help me!"
"OK, hurry and get me down from here!"
Having s'mores for a mid-morning snack
Before we left, it finally got warm enough for the girls to put their bathing suits on in the creek. I think throughout the trip, Emma got 3 pairs of pants wet...so I finally let them change!

Fun! Evan wanted to go camping Friday night... I said NO WAY! :)
I don't blame you, you & your preggo belly would not be comfortable sleeping on the ground!
Looks like fun, Amer!
Now I wanna go camping! You guys are so spontaneous!
